Kitulo Botany Paradise
Some of 31 species are endemic to Tanzania; 26 to the kitulo region; at least three to the plateau itself and two are found only on the plateau and in the adjoining forest (Nundulu mountain reserve)adjacent to Udzungwa Mountains, where the rarest monkey in Africa (highland mangabey) the new monkey genus where discovered,
Kitulo is the home to some important birds species which many are endemic to the country such as endangered blue swallow, denham’s bustard, mountain mash widow, njombe cisticola and Kipengere seedeater. Some of the world’s rare butterflies inhabit the area along with chameleon, lizard, frogs and few hardy reedbuck and eland .

Best time to visit Wildflower displays peak between December and April. Sunner months of September to November are more comfortable for hiking but less rewarding to botanists.Whether conditions are cold and foggy from June to August
